Lupus is a systemic autoimmune disease that occurs when your body’s immune system attacks your own tissues and organs. Inflammation caused by lupus can affect many different body systems — including your joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart and lungs. (mayoclinic.org)
May is Lupus Awareness Month in America and on May 10, it is Put On Purple where we put on purple and share the photo along with why we want to raise awareness. Join a Lupus Walk with friends and family.
You don't need to be an expert but be open to learning about lupus and the symptoms of the disease. The more you know and understand lupus, makes it easier to explain it to others.
Simply by sharing our stories, either our experience as a fighter or a supporter., we can raise awareness. Share information about lupus on social platforms so others can learn about the disease as well.
" Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease. Autoimmune diseases are serious conditions that occur when your own immune system attacks your healthy cells. There is still no cure for lupus. Rosadela shares her every day struggle with Lupus and enlightens us about this mystery disease!"
Hooper Mentality
- Every year my family would participate in the Walk to End Lupus Now here in San Diego. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 this years walk will be held virtually.
I have teamed up with non profit organization, Hooper Mentality, and proceeds from their purple/white hoodie (pictured left) sales will go to my fundraiser!
